Hello, people from the outside world. Here I am, my name is JD Miller and I’m looking to meet new friends and make some positive connections for my release.

I started this prison sentence life without parole. Changes in legislation have paved the way for me to have a last chance at life on the outside. I am so grateful for my new outlook on life. I had made some positive changes with my life before I was blessed with being resentenced.

My life is totally different from my past. Nowadays I work as a forest firefighter. Yes, just like the show Fire Country. It has helped me with learning real life job experiences and helping the community. Last year our fire crew saved a lady’s life. The joy that it brings me to give back to society is better than any drug can do. I’m learning a career that will help me get a better outcome in life. It is a great feeling daily to be able to leave from the prison gates to work hard and help the community.

I also like to bead jewelry and make other works of art with my hands. It has taught me patience and gives me a peace of mind.
